Sound Healing for Peace
Pastor Siri will lead a unique experience on Sunday, August 3rd at 7pm in the Sanctuary. In light of all the stress in our country, our nervous systems can become overly active. Humans have known about the healing power of music and sound for thousands of years, but now we have scientific research to prove that vibration and frequencies can settle our bodies.
What happens in a Sound Healing? Unlike a traditional concert, attendees are invited to sit or lie down, getting comfortable and closing their eyes. Pastor Siri will play crystal bowls (pictured above), drum and rattle, even using her voice as an instrument of sound. It may not seem as if “songs” are played, but rather notes intended to resonate in your body. The music is not something our brain understands as well as our body does. The overall experience leaves people feeling rested and calmed.
If you are curious, come with an open mind and see for yourself. The community is invited to attend this open event with a donation of $15-25.
May all beings everywhere be happy and free. Amen!

"Transforming" Book Discussion
Our Reconciling in Christ team recommended reading the book “Transforming” by Austen Hartke this summer to learn more about the Biblical and theological argument for transgendered people. Pastor Siri will lead a conversation in the Fireside room. Even if you haven’t read the book; you are encouraged to stay for the discussion.
